Examining schools’ programs and practices helps you look at educational resources – the curriculum and supports students get. What kind of data do you have on whether specific programs are producing learning gains? How often do we check to see what students are learning? Do we look at groups of students as well as individual students? What do we do when students aren’t learning, and do we know if these programs work?
These kinds of data are called leading indicators, and we discuss how to develop them in the Learning Center. If you want to see some examples of data on programs and practices, look at these questions we already have in the Data Center.
